Favorite Merit Badge: My favorite merit badge that I have earned was the lifesaving merit badge. I completed this merit badge at Camp Baldwin during a week-long summer campout.
Not only was I with all of my friends while doing this merit badge, but the lessons and information gained from this merit badge were mostly new, unlike other Eagle Scout merit badges.
Not to mention, it was also really fun to play dead in the water.
Favorite Scouting Memory: In my eleven years of scouting, there have been too many fond memories to call one a favorite. However, events like the 50-mile trek at Philmont or the rafting trip on the Snake River with my patrol have been standout memories.
One thing I have enjoyed the most throughout the eleven years has been all of the leadership roles I have held. Being the senior patrol leader, trek leader, and patrol leader have each been highlights of my scouting time.
How has Scouting influenced your life?: Being a Boy Scout taught me valuable leadership skills through opportunities to lead my peers in various activities and projects, fostering confidence and responsibility.
Public speaking became second nature through presentations at meetings, ceremonies, and community events, honing my ability to communicate effectively and persuasively.
Outdoor knowledge gained from camping trips and wilderness survival exercises equipped me with practical skills such as navigation, first aid, and problem-solving in challenging environments, instilling a lifelong appreciation for nature and adventure.
